He's been to th dr BUT..HELP PLEASE

My DS is 4 and has been sick for 3 weeks now. He went to the doctors wensday and all she said was he has an ear and eye infection but he now has a red rash on his arms his fever is back his cough is 10x worse his nose is running worse and it's a nasty green color. He always say's his head hurts and every chance he gets he falls asleep. Should i take him to the ER? Should i take him back to the doctors? HELP!!!

Call your insurances nurse line. Usually they have one. If not call the doctor.

Yes, he needs to go to the ER, or at least the doctor first thing tomorrow, with rash, headache and fever after a 3 week illness. 

The rash could be from medication allergy, if the doctor prescribed anything.

Sounds like what my DS has. My doctor gave me antibiotics. Call the doctor back in the morning and ask them to call something in.

Fever? Glands swollen? Is he on antibiotics? Can he follow your finger confront of him from side to side? Eyes focused, dilated?

Viruses have a funny way of making our body's do weird things. I'm no dr but most of the time even green snot does not indicate infection. I would be concerned if its brown or red. Also, whatever virus he has probably caused the rash. Give him some benedryl.

You're the mommy, if you feel he is that bad you need to take him to the ER then do so but call his pediatrician first and see if they have any suggestions. With the cold and flu season we are having I wouldn't want to take him to the ER with all those germs out there.

The rash could be from his fever. But I'd still go in since he's been sick for that long.
