Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

SO is out of town for work. Won't be back for at least a week. My neighbor wants me to go out with her Saturday to a dj/karaoke party in a town 30 minutes away. She is willing to pay her 18 year old niece to stay with my kids, buy my drinks, and get the hotel room.

So I asked SO if I could go. He said " why are you asking, you are grown, kids are taking care of, go". I just feel it would be disrespectful of me to go without making sure he was OK with it.

Would you ask in this situation, or just go?

I would ask, but thats just me being me.  I will let him know I am going to the store, or to a friends.  But going out with the girls is a whole nother level to me.  He wouldn't tell me no I can't go, hell he would want to go with :(  especially if someone else is buying/paying :)

Why? That sounds controlling.

Quoting Hyman:

Yes. And Dh would say no, lol

He has been out of town and I mentioned I'm going to a knitting class to learn and he got all mad and upset and said he was hurt I didn't tell him ...

So probably won't mention anything to him ever again.

That's something I would definitely discuss with DF before deciding on.

The babysitter? Hell I don't know. I'm half a pint into rum. Forgive my typo

What are the kids taking care of?

I would check in with my husband, in large part because i was leaving the kids with someone else and he gets a vote in that. But it would be a courtesy/respect thing, NOT as in I "need" his permission to go. And he'd say what yours did. Lol. Go, woman! Take a break!

Why would you ask?   I would say - something along the lines of "hey babe, Ann's niece is in town, and offered to keep the kids overnight so that Annand I can go play at lego land - we're getting a room, can I call you at 10 tomorrow instead of 6".

No, I wouldn't ask permission, but would give the details,

This but there probably wouldn't be a discussion.

Quoting RLT2:

I wouldn't ask, I would inform him and discuss it with him.

If I'm staying out over night yes. We like to let each other know where we will be.
