8yo step son sits down to pee and pisses on everything

I just went in the bathroom after he came out. He has been peeing everywhere but the toilet lately and I'm getting really tired of it! I lifted up the lid and ended up with pee on my hand, on my sock from a puddle on the floor, and then I come out and find him with pee on his socks and the bottom of his jeans.
I made him clean the mess up himself and he sat there argueing and throwing a huge tantrum because "I didn't do it!" His brother is in diapers, I don't have the equipment to pee like that, and his dad hasn't been out of bed yet. He ended up throwing himself down, right in the puddle, and making an even bigger mess. I very calmly (even though raging inside) made him clean it up, take a shower, and now he's doing extra chores for throwing a fit and blaming everyone else. I don't know what to do with him anymore!

I have to remind my son and nephew to "hold it down" all the time or we'd have the same issues. Maybe try that or have him start standing up??
Good luck I know there is nothing worse than walking into a bathroom that smells like piss for lack of better words and seeing it on the rug and floors. :(

For this, I am happy I have girls. I don't think I would be able to keep calm in that situation.
Sorry mama, hopefully the day gets better for you :)

tell him that if hes going to pee like a baby youre going to make him pee in a potty training seat with a peepee gaurd. he is old enough to control that thing. my four yr old stands up to pee and gets a dribble on the seat once in a while but he wipes it up every time and apologizes for missing. thanks to my dh who has never once made me sit in anything gross for teaching him appropriate man bathroom manners.

Wow.
First he is way too old for tantrums. 2nd he should be standing up when he pees. I would tell him flat out to stand up. I would also have his dad tell him.

We have that issue every single day with my son standing up.
It's just pee. He just needs to learn to clean up after himself. I finally taught DS to clean the toilet. Now we are working on the floor.
ETA: DD regularly pees between the seat and rim and gets pee on the floor. We are working on teaching her to lean forward and clean up after herself.
