I hate when he can say I told you so!

So we live on the 2nd floor of an apartment building and I have a decent sized balcony that I let the cats go on when I'm home and can keep an eye on them.

Well we haven't had Evie and Guinevere long so they haven't learned that they can't go on the ledge outside the balcony and my fiancé bitches about me letting them out on the balcony because he's afraid one will fall down and we will lose her.

Well take a wild guess what happened today? Yup Guinevere fell down to the ground and it took me about 15 minutes to get her and bring her back in the house

She's ok, though obviously very cautious and won't go anywhere near the door but now my fiancé can say I told you so :-/

I've learned my lesson, no kitties outside. Period.

I love them. They don't belong locked up inside. They should go out.

Quoting Hannahluvsdogs:

Do you hate cats or something?

Quoting atyou:

They belong outside.

Quoting Hannahluvsdogs:

Yes they do. I've heard that from several sources, including my vet.

Quoting atyou:

No, they don't.

Quoting Roxygurl:

Yes they do. Cats live a hell of a lot longer when they are strictly indoor cats than if they were outside cats besides the fact that I live in an apartment that says animals love inside not outside.

Quoting atyou:

No they don't.

Quoting Roxygurl:

Noooo kitties belong INSIDE

Quoting atyou:

Aw.

Kitties belong outside. =(

Hmm.

When I lived in an old 1920s brick building, I lived on the 6th floor and would open the window and my now 11 year old cat would walk on the 4 inch ledge made of brick.......he loved it :)

I must have a smarter cat :)

I've had outdoor cara all my life. They youngest death was 12 years.

Cats belong outside.

Quoting Logan_Bellasmom:

Yea if you want them to die from fights, diseases, getting hit by cars, being tortured by others who hate cats or being stolen...Yea that all sounds great if you love your pet. The lifespan of a indoor cat is 12-15 years...and outdoor cat is 2-5 years.

I don't know why everybody's fighting, my cats love to go outside, they also like to come back in. I have one cat that lives strickley outside. She hates being inside. Plus she keeps mice away.

No one is fighting. It is a difference of opinion.
