DH got an email that he'll be receiving a 1098t in the mail, I'm wondering how this will effect our tax refund this year?? We've never gotten one (and honestly I hadnt heard of it til we got the email and I looked it up to see what exactly it was)

No normally we only have a w-2 we have to file, but I saw the spot on turbo tax for the 1098t form to be filled in...

Would it be for any tuition he paid or only classes taken during 2012? (He took classes in 2011 that we paid part of in 2012 and took classes in 2012 that we paid for/part of in 2012.... hopefully that made sense lol)

You can deduct tuition paid for an eligible institution.

You file it and it can help you get some money back. I get one from my school and last year I got $200 more back.

The form will show the amount. I think it's for classes billed in the tax year.
