If you use your bank card or credit card as a credit in 40 states prepare to be charged a 4% fee.

This fee use to be paid by merchants but credit card companies have allowed merchants to pas this on to the consumers starting yesterday.

Idk what states this affects

ABC news says if you buy a 200 dollar camera and use your bank card or credit card. You will be charged an additional 8 bucks.

Using debit cards with a pin you won't get charged

All online stores and stores have to post a sign somewhere stating you will be charged the extra fee

Sucks. I told DH last night to always pay cash or use debit when possible.

Fortunately they have to tell you BEFORE you use your card. Then you can opt to use debit, check or cash.

I don't have a credit card and have only ever used my bank card as a debit. but I live in 1 of the state that is not adding this charge. so I am good either way.
