Question: Is it normal for guys to expect women to pay or offer to pay for their own food on dates?

My mom has been starting to date again and she has a question.

Is it normal for guys to expect woman to pay on dates when they are older (like been divorced already)? My mom has notice that some men she goes out with seem to expect her to pay for her own way or at least offer to. My thinking was that dating post divorce might be different then when you start dating for the first time because now most men are paying child support for the kids and having to maintain a home where as for before, men only had to take care of themselves so money is probably tighter now.

I don't know! LOL Maybe offer to pay, and most likely he would insist on paying... unless he's a dirtbag. LOL jk.

If a man expected me to pay, there would be no second date. I'm old fashioned like that. Now, if they've been dating for months then I think it's appropriate for the woman to pay now and again.
