Wool dryer balls?

I need a way to get rid of all this static in my clothes. We cant use any fabri softener or dryer sheets because both boys will break out. What can I do? Do wool balls work? Does it matter what ones I get?

Eta: I forgot to mention, I already use vinegar in the wash.

I can't get the link to add, but there's a blog called Hobo Mama, and she has a tutorial on making your own wool dryer balls and how they work.

The vinegar works well to soften the fabric but does nothing for static. Try balls made out of aluminum foil.  Just wad up a bunch of foil into a ball 2-3 inches in diameter. Make sure it's packed tight.  Use about three of them.  It makes a lot of racket but works.  Not perfectly, but it does work.

Do you know how much wool yarn costs to buy? I found 2 organic wool balls on amazon for $19 after s&h so I don't want to spend more than that and have to make them myself.

Interesting. I'll have to try that.
