I don't know if many of you have heard but Canada has stopped production of the penny. This week we are starting to remove them from circulation. Since the penny costs 1.6 cents to make (I looked it up at apparently its close to the same cost in the US) it will save us around 11 million a year. Apparently prices are to be rounded down, I'm not to hopeful if that, I think they will end up rounding up. I think for Canada its a good move, do you think the same should be done in America?

I especially hate when its 4 cents. I either have to choose to dig and find 4 or get another penny back adding to my huge pile of pennies.

It does cost more than a penny to make a penny. However, OUR prices for things will then increase... Subtly. Things would then be rounded to the next higher nickel.

Yes, if it cost more than what it's worth...uh duh
Then again, what would we say in place of "penny for your thoughts"?
