on our way to my inlaws ds was drinking from a strw in the car. dh braked quickly and the straw poked ds mouth. not in his cheek, closer to the back of his throat. he bled for a little while. he tried to eat but cant and it hurts him pretty bad. he has been eating a snocone and had a smoothie yogurt. i think it could wait til morning but my mom says take him to the er.

Ouch! That happened to my nephew a long time ago. They went er, and the doctor said there wasn't much he could do. Can you call a nurse line?

Yikes!!!
I don't know. I would think if it stopped bleeding there isn't much they can do at the ER.
I think I'd wait till morning. They may just give him a mouth rinse...but they may do stitches. Tuff one
Bump!!

There really isn't anything they can do about it... So I'd take him to the dr in the morning for an antibiotic to prevent an infection and let him have soft foods until it heals.
