What happens if you are subpoena for court and you don't show up? Long, confusing and screwed up.

My sister in law S was married to J my dh's brother. He cheated on her so she moved out with their 2 year old son. We are currently living with my bil M. S and M (lol) start talking and screwing. Yes, I realize this is some jerry springer shit. They are brothers.
He wanted to move them in here and we were dead set against it. She was basically homeless with a 2 year old, who is our nephew, and is helpless and needs someone besides his shitty parents. So we agreed. It sucked the whole time but we delt with it. She goes home to Arizona for 2 weeks for Christmas. We live in TN. She comes back 2 days and M tells her she needs to find a new place to live. And she takes off the next day. We new nothing about him kicking her out till the day we see her leave with her suitcase. We did not know where she went till her soon to be ex husband said her laywer let her fly back to Arizona because she had no support system.
So her ex husband J has his lawyer subpoena Me, my dh and my bil M to court tomorrow.
Do we have to go? M should go, this is his house, we are just staying here a couple more months. What happens if we don't go? I hate this f*cked up family and I don't want any part of this mess and that is what I said when she moved in but of course you know how that goes.
You have to go. HAVE to. If they get they're answers from others they may not even call you though.
If you don't show up the judge can order a bench warrant and you can be arrested for contempt of court.
Like PP's have said. You have a choice, go or risk being arrested for contempt of court.
I say go, don't risk being arrested.
