My ds is 5. He is literally NEVER sick. Until 3 weeks ago. He just can't kick whatever he has. His pedi put him on Antibiotics last week (augmentin), and he was feeling better. Till today. His stupid fever came back. It's 102. His last dose of the antibiotics was Friday.
I have to take him back in to his pedi becuz his fever is back.

The problem is, I just transferred into a new position and I'm supposed to work tomorrow from 7a-7p. I hate to call off my 2nd week there.

Wwyd? Wait to take him in till Wednesday (when I have off) or call my supervisor and see if I can work another day and explain the situation. :/

Why did his dr give him antibiotics? Ear infection, strep??

If he has something viral antibiotics won't help.

Yes. But only till 9p. And I took him to urgent care last week and they wouldn't do anything for him. :( his pedi is amazing and I hate not taking him there.

They think it was bronchitis. He has had a runny/stuffy nose, cough, and congestion for 3 weeks now and he developed a fever last week of 102.7.

For that. Yes I would bring him back. I would be concerned about pneumonia.

Maybe google walk in clinics in your area. They often stay open till 10pm.

They did a chest X-ray and there was no signs of any issues.

So that's why they thought about bronchitis.

I think you can wait.  Give him meds or the fever and other stuff.  He still has the antibotics in his system.  Its a nasty thing that has been going around. If something happens you can always leave work for an emergency.

Take him on Wednesday.  If you are comfortable doing so, give him children's Tylenol.  That should help the fever.  If not comfortable, I remember my mom putting a cool, wet washcloth on my forehead to help bring fevers down.
