I want to know where is the healthcare we were all promised under the whole Omabacare drama??  Why do we still have terribly ill people in this country with no coverage?  Was that topic of conversation just something else to get everyone all ralied up, or do we actually get to take advantage of that??

You are an idiot. Read about how the electoral college works then come back and try to debate.

Quoting Anonymous:

You are wrong.  I was watching it on the tv with my own eyes. In some states he won hands down, in others they called him the winner based on electoral votes and the popular votes were off by a few percent... you cant tell me any different.  My friends and family and I were all discussing it as it happened and we were commenting about how was that possible... and the fact that you just said 4 times in our history, it didnt matter what the people voted for proves my point.  If the people didnt vote for that person to win, why 4 times was it allowed?  Because it does not matter what we really want!

Quoting Anonymous:

MYTH

only 4 times in our nations history has a president who didn't win the popular vote become elected based on electoral votes.

President Obama won both the popular and electoral votes in 2012.

Save your lame excuses.

Quoting Anonymous:

Were you NOT paying attention to the presidential votes?  Only the electoral votes counted... not the votes by "we the people"  in some areas, they called one party the winner based on electoral votes, yet the other one was clearly the winner based on what "we the people" wanted and chose... so what is good and right and wholesome about that?  I do not agree with having a govt like we have.  When they have a vote to change the type of govt system we have a choice of, then I will vote.  Until then, I will not vote for a topic because it seems slightly more tolerable than the other if I hate both options or do not agree with any of them.  Why would I vote something in that I dont like or want?  And when there are NO viable choices for my beliefs wants or wishes as an American Citizen, I will not choose one!

Quoting Anonymous:

That's a huge contradiction and exactly the reason why you should vote. And once something does happen, it's too late, but you choose not to do anything about it when you can? Sticking your head in the sand isn't going to keep you safe from the government you don't agree with.

Quoting Anonymous:

Not everyone votes you know.  I dont believe in certain aspects of the govt and how they are run so I choose it is best for me not to vote.  Im not going to raise my blood pressure over something that may or may not happen... I only worry about it if in fact it does.

Quoting Anonymous:

I'm sorry, that's sad. You need to be informed about what is going on in the world you and your children live in. And VOTE!

Quoting Anonymous:

I dont vote.  Hence, why I didnt need to be super informed until it became a reality.

Quoting ChloeDolce1:

I think people need to educate themselves. People just take what the govt says verbatim and think they are going to get a check in the mail. That's why people should do a little more research before voting. Then they are shocked when they expect things and don't get them how or as quickly as they would like.

For one it doesn't go in to effect until 2014. Secondly it's not free so you have to pay for it and its mandatory so this plan you are so excited for us going to cost you.

How do people go through life so uninformed about what goes on around them?

No you'd know if you had one it's not 2014 it's only 2013

Quoting Anonymous:

Why is that?  Does the government put their dates on the calendar as to when things go into effect?

Quoting OneToughMami:

No calendar? You should buy one thems

that is how it has been here for quite some time now.

Quoting Anonymous:

Obamacare isn't real. Far as I'm concerned.. Since those promises, Healthcare assistance for women is now only while pregnant and lasts only 6wks after childbirth then turns into Family planning ONLY. Meaning it will help cover birth control.. No idea when that changed.. but its BS!

Yep, that it is. I don't even know why they bother.

Quoting Anonymous:

Sounds like you got your COBRA package. COBRA is a complete joke and waste of time.

Quoting militlady:

Our insurance ends today. We can continue it but it will cost us $1400 a month with a $10000 deductible and and 80% copay. That is NOT affordable for anyone that I know of. It also doesn't even cover well baby checks. The only way that would even be remotely useful is if one of us was hospitalized for over a month and be in intensive care. That was actually even the least expensive insurance that we could find. My husband and I are both veterans so we use the VA hospital whenever we can but our son is not covered at all as of tomorrow. We also don't qualify for CHIP for him because we make a few dollars too much. Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard spot.

I'm not sure either. I guess just to make people more upset about losing their benefits.
