There's really no point. They should try to turn him if they can but only if you're ok with it. It is painful. But they should check again at like 39wks or so. Depends on if you want to try a natural delivery. Then wait til you go into labor and they can check then. You could easily go to 42wks. So that gives baby plenty of time to flip.

If the baby is very large they may not be able to turn. In that case they may try to turn the baby or do a c-section.

I want a vaginal delivery so I'll do whatever to avoid a c section. I don't understand why they stress it so much if it could change at the last min.

Never.  You can deliver a breech baby vaginally and most time during labor, if baby has not already switched, baby will switch.

My baby was transverse until 36 weeks.

Not too sure..some babies will turn the last minute and some won't.  My 3rd baby, my DD, was breech the whole pregnancy and so I had a c-section.

sorry thats the same reason I had to have a c-section. She was an 8lb baby. It will be hard for her/him to turn this late in the pregnancy probably. GL though.

It just irritates me because my doctor hasn't been able to tell the babies position for 4wks and I really am worried about a c section.
