I often hear people say you aren't supposed to thaw meat in hot water, why aren't you supposed to?
I've always seen people thaw meat in hot water, and this is how I do it, and I've never ever had a problem.
I'm seriously curious on this.

Because the outer parts start to cook while the inner parts are still solidly frozen, its best to thaw out meat in cold water for that reason

Because thawing it in still water breads bacteria. you should do it in luke warm water while it is running or change the water often if you want to do it with water. i do mine in the microwave
