Confessions of a SAHM

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

I act like being a sahm is SO hard. Dh even feels bad some days when he comes home because I look "frazzled." Little does he know, I look that way because I just woke up from a nap! Yes I do the cleaning, laundry, cooking and all the other crap sahm's do, but it seriously isn't that much work. I have maybe one busy day a week and the rest I just hang out, play with ds and watch tv. This is the life!!!

*Ds will be starting k next year...seems like a good time to start talking about having more kids again! :)

i'd rather relax and enjoy my kid. thats why i spend the one day busting my ass to get the hard, nitty gritty cleaning and errands done. sure we go out and do fun things here and there. he is in pre-k mon-fri 9-1130 and we do work on writing and reading but for the most part its just nice, calm mommy and ds time. i love it!

the joys of having a 5 y/o!

LOL. My children are far harder than yours. Temper tantrums from my two year old and the whole nine yards are enough to make me look frazzled.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone has exposed the real life of a SAHM!!!! I never thought it was hard. Going back to work after 7 years???? THAT is difficult. lol!!! But, if we are being completely honest, I HATED being bored and lazy all the time. Sure, sometimes it was great, but I thrive on stress and deadlines and competition and MONEY! lol!

i must just have a laid back kid. he likes doing fun things like that but he is totally content playing with me and doing school work at home. he goes to bed around 10 and we are up at 630..kid never has a problem going to sleep lol

You get a nap? I'm ALWAYS busy! I have three little ones and I cook three meals per day for the family. Add in all the other chores and IDK how I'd work!

Same here.  I was never really a SAHM.  I worked part time.  When I was home it was either get out of the house or I was going to kill someone.  I just can't sit there with a 2 year old all day.  I'd go nuts.  I enjoyed going to the park, playground, wherever, as long as it wasn't the house.

Quoting lovinglife0682:

I could not do that. I would do crazy from boredom. We stay really busy everyday.

lol, it was obvious you had one child before I read that part.  But, I get it...sometimes if I just didn't have time to clean, I do something to take his mind off the messy house...but when I say I didn't have time, that's what I mean lol.  Ahhh...I remember the days of having one kid...those days are long gone.  Enjoy it.
