Now granted I was about 12 when I thought this so don't bash tooooo hard.

But I thought black women couldn't wear make up. Because I only ever saw white people make up. Then I was in the store one day and saw darker shades and it clicked.

When I was a toddler/preschooler, I thought black people didn't have belly buttons. I have NO idea where I got that from.

Like they physically couldn't wear it? Funny the mind of a 12 year old.

When i was small i though if you got married, you automatically became pregnant.

I used to wonder if black men's sperm was also black.  Totally ignorant but I was young and dumb.

Yeah. I had mentioned this to a friend and she was just sure my parents were racist. No. We just lived in a very small town.

I don't wear it and Black women come in all shades. You're right, you did sound ignorant. We're not all chocolate or dark brown, we come in all shades.
