Would you move into a neighborhood knowing you're the minority?

We've found the perfect house and neighborhood. All the back yards face the man made river and the prices are reasonable and the neighborhood has 1000 homes and tons of amenities.

The only draw back is we will be the minority by a long shot. Is it fair to do that to our kids?

Update, I spoke with my husband and he said no he didn't think the neighborhood would be a good thing because the population would lower the property values and he pointed out that's why the homes are so cheap now. A 4000 sq foot home for 200,000 on the water is a steal for this area.

I also went ahead and looked at the builders website and the exact same house in a different neighborhood 15 minutes from the one I looked at and not waterfront is 395,000.

Is it a safe area? If it's safe, I don't see any other reason not to move there.

Why would it be unfair?  People are people.  As long as the neighborhood is safe.

I am the minority in my neighborhood. I've never had any problems.

As long as the schools were good the neighborhood was known as being safe and I felt comfortable living there It wouldn't matter to me. While y'all are deciding go out on a sat and walk around the neighborhood and meet the neighbors then see how you feel

Race isn't something I look at when I research neighborhoods. The only things that matter to me are safety, the quality of the schools, and the price of housing.

I haven't researched that far yet, that's my next step but it looks safe.
