so there are at least 3 tornados in and around our town. Fucking figures we just moved into an apartment without closets, and huge ass windows in every room. FML!!!!! Oh and my DF is at work and i'm homw with my 3 kids and my kid brother who is 15 and scaring the shit outta my 4&5 year olds. This shit sucks.

How do they even build apartments in Tornado prone areas that have no closets and huge windows in every room? That seems less than practical to me. Meanwhile, do as the others said, bathroom, in the tub, mattress on top.

Tell your brother if he doesn't stop your going to throw him outside to figure out what real fear is.

Is there a basement? Can you call your landlord and find out if there's access to that basement for emergencies?

my DF has the only car so no i can't just go somewhere else. I had my kids in the bathtub until it passed but there are supposed to more all day.

Are you in Ga? I'm watching the weather right now. If you have a warning, they said not to get on the road. If you don't have a warning, I would go to a safe place. If not, pull a mattress off of your bed and put it over you.
