Why DON'T you allow your child to go on school field trips?
A parent in ds's pre k is not allowing their dd to go to on the class field trip to a museum.
Is this common? Do you do this and if so why?

I would not allow my PreK child to go on a fieldtrip unless I was going as well. They are to young and could wonder off and get lost.

Actually it's a him and I don't want to seem rude so I figure I would ask here.

My kids have never missed a field trip in all. They even went to a local petting zoo in preschool.

I let my son go but I tag along as well. Most schools go to the same place at the same time on the same day around here and it would be so easy for one kid to get misplaced or even kidnapped. If I can't go, my kid won't be going. Ill take him myself another time and we will have just as much fun. He's in kindergarten btw, when he's older ill be okay with it but he's 5.

I push for more field trips in DD's preschool.
I admit I was nervous her first field trip that I wasn't able to go. But she was fine
