I was ALMOST abducted from the Bronx Zoo at age 3......

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I was with my mom, her boyfriend & his son. The four of us were walking, and her BF was holding his sons hand & my hand. My mom said she bent down to tie her shoes, when she was done she looked up at her BF & noticed I wasn't with him. She asked where I was - he said he thought my mom grabbed my hand so he let go of me (didn't even bother to turn, look & make sure) - my mom panicked & she said something told her to run to the the area where you left the zoo -- & sure enough she saw a man holding my hand, trying to walk out of the exit with me.

She screamed for him to stop, screamed for help & two men ran up and grabbed the man. He told police that the he found a little girl & was escorting her to lost & found so she could find her mommy!! (sure you were, that's why you were trying to exit the zoo with a crying little girl)

Anything crazy ever happen in your life that could've ended up a lifetime movie?

*I actually experienced something worse than almost being abducted at the zoo ::

When I was 7, I remember being woken up in the middle of the night by my mother, she grabbed me and put her finger over her mouth (as to say SSSHHHH - be quiet) we ran and hid under our kitchen table (it was a round glass table but we had a super long table clothe (it almost reached the ground) anyway we were hiding under the table & I saw two pairs of black boot walking around our apartment (it scared the shit out of me)

They were there for what felt like forever (my mom said it was like 5/10 mins) - crazy shit is they didn't ransack our apartment or even take anything.

We moved to Staten Island like a day or two later.

Later on in life I found out that my bio dad was into some shit he shouldn't have been into & those guys were there looking for him. My mom & dad hadn't been together since I was like 1 - but it was the last known address they knew he lived at.

OP, what else do you remember about the zoo incident? Do you remember anything the guy said to you? Do you remember being scared?

well thank god for those teenage boys.

Quoting Kerannmer:

That's frightening. It only takes a second! So glad your mom followed her instincts.

I was almost kidnapped by two men in a car outside of our city pool. I was riding my bike, stopped at a crossroads, when they pulled up along side of me. The passenger grabbed me and tried to pull me into the car through the window. I was saved by a couple of teenage boys walking to the pool. The car sped off and they were never caught. I still have nightmares, and this was 27 years ago.

OP, do you ever think about what would have happened to you if he had successfully abducted you?

i was also almost abducted when I was 3.  My parents were landscaping our front yard so my sister and I were with them playing in our yard. For just a few second both my mom and dad both ended up inside our house at the same time.  A white car pulled up from down the street.  There were two men in the car - the driver, and a man in the backseat.  The driver opened the passenger door and the man in the back said, "Come here I want to show you something."  I was 3 so if someone told me to "come here" I did. I started to take a step forward and he leaned forward. My sister grabbed my arm and said, 'No'. Just then my dad, who saw this from inside, came running out screaming.  A year earlier a young girl was found murdered in a field a few miles from our home.  And then 10 -15 years later there was a string of child abductions in our area.

When I was little my brother and I would ride down the street.  Sometimes we would see a car in the middle of this cow field and we found that really strange because well, who tends to cows with a car?  It really stuck with me seeing this totally out of place car in this cow field.  One day we rode by while he was opening the gate to the property.  We didn't like the look he gave us and decided to go home.  It was like he was trying to decide if we were a threat.  Then years later in that same spot they started digging.  A mass murderer had been dumping bodies in the well on the property.  Seeing his picture now and knowing how close I was to that mass murder terrifies me.  I mean we were probably 8 and 11 and there was nobody else around besides us and him for miles.

So yeah, thankfully it wasn't bad but it could have been very bad.

mine wasn't as a child, but i will share anyway...  let me first apologize for any future typos i'm at work and trying to do this quickly before an appointment :-P  it's my late!

When I was in College, I met a boy (at walmart- should have been my first clue)  who seemed very nice.  we exchanged numbers and met a few times in public places with friends and started to really get close, only once i let him walk me to the door of my room.  All of a sudden he stopped talking to me, and even though i was hurt by it I let it go...  one day his mom called me from a blocked number to tell me that he had been arrested becuase of something that happened in Virginia while he was at school the year before.   about a week later i started recieving letters from him, and they were weird, uncomfortable even...  I never responded.  I was living in the dorms which are locked from the outside unless you have a passkey (and the passkey only works at YOUR dorm after a certain time- I think it was 9pm)  and then your bedroom door has a key too.  My roommate was visiting her boyfriend at school for weekend and I had just walked from a late dinner at the Dining hall.  i didn't notice anything when I walked in, I went into my room and turned on the music, put my books away and was sitting at the computer.  I heard a knock at the door and figuring it was one of my hall-mates I called to come in.  It wasn't one of my hall mates, it was the guy (we can call him M)  and he looked mad.  I asked him what he was doing there and he kept yelling at me because "I never wrote to him."  he started twoard me and I told him to stop, I was uncomfortable and I asked him to leave.  he said no and continued toward me.  I started screaming and pushed him away, but he grabbed me and wouldn't let me go and started pulling me toward the door.  I was kicking and punching him and still screaming when my best guy friend (who happened to live in thr oom next to mine)  walked through the door with a few of his frat brothers.  they came to my rescue and while three of them held M down and we called campus police.  I had to give my statement and copies of the letters to the campus police and wouldn't walk anywhere by myself for months.  M is now in jail because of other charges, and I stil lhave nightmares about it all the time.  i thank God for my friend and the other boys because God knows what would have heppened had it not been for them!

When I was 8 I told my brother to go tell my grandma that we were going to our babysitters house. I was waiting 2 houses down. This teenager walked by me and burped in my face. Quite loudly and rudely I told him to excuse himself. He took 2 more steps and when he turned around with a knife in his hand. I cried and he smiled and walked away.

When I was a teen I was hanging out with a friend at this married couples house. We were partying and started a game of truth or dare. I went to the bathroom and when I came out the husband was waiting for me and put his arms on either side so I was trapoed and started to try and kiss me. I kicked him in the balls and walked out. On my way home a guy in a car stopped in my oath amd flashed a badge saying he was a cop. He wanted to givr me a ride home. I had a big bag of pot in my pocket so I told him no. Later, there was a guy riding around the town pulling people over and raping the women who stopped. When they caught him and released his pic I realized it was the same man and if I got in the car I would have been his first victim.

I remember being scared

I remember him telling me we were going to find my mommy & I remember him squeezing my hand really tight. So tight I remember complaining to him & to my mom after I was back with her that my hand hurt.

When I was in elementary school I walked up to the candy store (we lived in a very small town) and decided to walk home the long way. As I was getting close to the elementary school a green car pulled up beside me and I figured the guy wanted directions. Instead he pulled his weiner out and shook it. I turned and ran away.

Another time I remember going to the store with my mom and must have walked away from her. Well she kept going and I didn't realize it. Thankfully I walked up to a register and my mom found me.

Some guy tried to get me and my friend to open the gate to the base at the park to take us to a 'better' park. I grabbed the hand of the boy and ran to my nearest friends house and told the mom which got a hold of my parents. We had the military police at our house in a matter of minutes and they took a description and said this same guy had tried at least 3 other times to get kids to go with them.
