Mom Confessions Mom Confessions

I was ALMOST abducted from the Bronx Zoo at age 3......

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
I was with my mom, her boyfriend & his son. The four of us were walking, and her BF was holding his sons hand & my hand. My mom said she bent down to tie her shoes, when she was done she looked up at her BF & noticed I wasn't with him. She asked where I was - he said he thought my mom grabbed my hand so he let go of me (didn't even bother to turn, look & make sure) - my mom panicked & she said something told her to run to the the area where you left the zoo -- & sure enough she saw a man holding my hand, trying to walk out of the exit with me.

She screamed for him to stop, screamed for help & two men ran up and grabbed the man. He told police that the he found a little girl & was escorting her to lost & found so she could find her mommy!! (sure you were, that's why you were trying to exit the zoo with a crying little girl)

Anything crazy ever happen in your life that could've ended up a lifetime movie?

*I actually experienced something worse than almost being abducted at the zoo ::

When I was 7, I remember being woken up in the middle of the night by my mother, she grabbed me and put her finger over her mouth (as to say SSSHHHH - be quiet) we ran and hid under our kitchen table (it was a round glass table but we had a super long table clothe (it almost reached the ground) anyway we were hiding under the table & I saw two pairs of black boot walking around our apartment (it scared the shit out of me)

They were there for what felt like forever (my mom said it was like 5/10 mins) - crazy shit is they didn't ransack our apartment or even take anything.

We moved to Staten Island like a day or two later.

Later on in life I found out that my bio dad was into some shit he shouldn't have been into & those guys were there looking for him. My mom & dad hadn't been together since I was like 1 - but it was the last known address they knew he lived at.

Our yard was along a road that was not used very much except for people in the neighborhood.  My mom was at work and my dad was in the house (I was about 6).  I was playing outside in the yard with my dog when a guy pulled up and tried to ask me for directions.  I started walking back up to my house and the guy got out of his car, my dog started barking at him and alerted my neighbor who was sitting on her side porch, she screamed for him to get away from me and he took off.  My dad came running outside and ended up calling the police and made a report.  Nothing ever came of it.

Bump

Kind of scary/sad to hear all these stories but comforting in a way to know I'm not the only one who has had some crazy things happen to them

Thank you, I will update tomorrow as soon as I get home.  If you are on her Facebook page I will update from the hospital.  I have never tried getting on CM from my cell phone.

When I was 3-4 I got separated from my mom in a Fred Meyer store (I wandered off).  I stood in an aisle, frozen and unsure what to do,  and this woman approached me and said she would take me to the desk to call my mom.  When we neared the front of the store she started squeezing my hand and beelining towards the doors.  It was then that my dad walked in (he had been outside smoking).  He recognizes me and calls my name,  and the woman was like,  "Oh,  are you her dad?  We were just looking for you!".  I vividly remember this,  and feeling afraid as she led me towards the doors instead of the desk as promised,  and I told my parents that she was trying to kidnap me but they never believed it.

1 mom liked this

That's scary. Those guys could have killed you all because of your dad and that pervert at the zoo, I would die if that happened. He probably didn't even get in trouble. Glad you came out ok in both situaions.

OP, do you ever think about what would have happened to you if he had successfully abducted you?

i was also almost abducted when I was 3.  My parents were landscaping our front yard so my sister and I were with them playing in our yard. For just a few second both my mom and dad both ended up inside our house at the same time.  A white car pulled up from down the street.  There were two men in the car - the driver, and a man in the backseat.  The driver opened the passenger door and the man in the back said, "Come here I want to show you something."  I was 3 so if someone told me to "come here" I did. I started to take a step forward and he leaned forward. My sister grabbed my arm and said, 'No'. Just then my dad, who saw this from inside, came running out screaming.  A year earlier a young girl was found murdered in a field a few miles from our home.  And then 10 -15 years later there was a string of child abductions in our area.

Wow, some of these stories are so scary!

I don't have a childhood story, but once when I was like 22, some friends and I went out to dinner in Cleveland. We got into our car to go home, and this big black SUV completely cut us off in the parking lot. So, dh (then fiance) honked the horn. Apparently that pissed off the driver, because he sped up, turned around, and the front passenger pulled out a gun and pointed it at us. We were like omg wtf, and got out of there as fast as possible. They must have thought we were calling the cops because their car approached ours again and the guy guy was laughing and holding his hands up like trying to say he was joking or something.

You wouldn't happen to be anywhere in calavaras county would you?

When I was little my brother and I would ride down the street.  Sometimes we would see a car in the middle of this cow field and we found that really strange because well, who tends to cows with a car?  It really stuck with me seeing this totally out of place car in this cow field.  One day we rode by while he was opening the gate to the property.  We didn't like the look he gave us and decided to go home.  It was like he was trying to decide if we were a threat.  Then years later in that same spot they started digging.  A mass murderer had been dumping bodies in the well on the property.  Seeing his picture now and knowing how close I was to that mass murder terrifies me.  I mean we were probably 8 and 11 and there was nobody else around besides us and him for miles.

So yeah, thankfully it wasn't bad but it could have been very bad.
