RX drug changes? Update

My Xdh went and picked up our DS asthma medicine today. It was $120!! Normally it is only $35. He called me to see how much it was last month (we take turns buying it). I told him it was normal $35. I asked him to make sure they ran the insurance, becuase that deft wasn't right. He said they did and insurance paid $57 of it.

He said that he wasn't told about any changes to his insurance.. But that doesn't mean there wasn't any. He got a new insurance card at the beginning of the year but to his knowledge it was just new cards but no changes...

He has blue cross blue shield.

Is this becuase of Obamacare?

Update: so we talked to the instance company. Turns out this drug is no longer on their preferred list. Which this is good and bad news. Good becuase it means DS health plan hasn't actually changed so all of our deductibles and copays are still the same. It is bad news becuase now we have to switch the meds or cough up the extra money every month that we don't have. Which I guess in the grand scheme of things isn't a huge deal, but it took us forever to find a medicine that worked for him. So now we have to find a new one.

;/ ugh

I don't know but my birth control went to $0 because of Obamacare. Insurance companies are going to want to make that up somehow.

He probably got something in the mail and just doesn't remember.

Ugh.

I'm hoping this is an error otherwise we are going to have to switch his meds. We can not afford that extra money every month.

My grandmother has been taking the same medication for the last 4 years or more. We just got a notice in the mail that it's no longer covered. :( I have to fax her doc so he can dispute it--she NEEDS those meds.

With my grandma's meds that are no longer covered, she didn't receive a notice until AFTER she refilled them this month. The pharmacy charged the normal amount because they have to during the first thirty days, but now she can't refill it.

His drug coverage has always been on a tier system.

Rxs are either $0-20, 20-35, 35-50 50-120. ect
