These kids are gonna wake up so upset ....Updated w/pics on page 3

Crying "where is Mommy?"

I am at my friends house who I have never been at before. We are good friends, but not super close. I am here cus she went into labor in the middle of the night. Her MIL was supposed to watch the kids but when she called her she discovered she was sick with the stomach flu.

Soooo....... I am now sitting at my friends house with my 3 yr old sleeping in her pack n play and 2 kids ages 2 and 3 sleeping in their room who barely know me and have no idea I am here. Their mom did not tell them cus she was not in labor when they went to bed. But, she woke at 11:00 with contractions 5 min. apart, then there where 2 mins apart and some one on top of each other by the time I got here.

Please pray for me cus I am gonna have an interesting time in the morning! LOL!

Aldo hoping my friend has a great labor and a happy, healthy baby! :-)

Update on the morning and pics on page 3.

The kids know me very well now. They were at my house almost all afternoon and evening yesterday. And their dad just dropped them off with me for a few hours this evening so he can go visit his wife and baby in the hospital. I am beyond wiped out, but at least they are really good kids.

Although, i have to say having 5 kids around the house the last 2 days I think i just felt my tubes tying themselves! LOL!

your a good friend. The kids know who you are right?  That would be kind of freaky to a kid if they don't know you, but I'm sure you'll do fine, maybe if she has the baby in the night dad can pop back home for a bit to talk to them.

LOL! No sugary cereal here. But cartoon will be on!

Well that's good at least. You know what, cartoons and sugary cereal all the way tomorrow morning! Desperate times call for desperate measures! LOL

With his wife/my friend while she is in labor.

Where is the Dad?

Oh I am sure they will be fine if they know your daughter.  Maybe have some snacks ready too

Yeah, I am hoping TV saves me. LOL! Hopefully it will not be too bad. My DD who is with me goes to school with one of the kids so that should help.

Quoting melakay1981:

Have cartoons on when they wake up and be very cheerful.  I was in that situation once and it did not turn out too bad.

Thanks! They know me, just not well. I have seen them and interacted with them a handful of times. Dad will be back in the later AM if she has the baby overnight.

Yeah, that should help. I am so tired, but it is so hard to sleep at someone else's house and with her kids sleeping.

They'll live :)

I did this once for a friend who put her kids to bed and had to go at 3am... I hope they don't flip out on you.

My saving grace was acting all excited that the new baby was coming home soon and get them excited and happy too :)

Oh wow, I hope the littles don't freak out in the morning when they see you!  I would be so nervous if I were you, lol.  Good luck!

Unless they are extremely shy or socially anxious I don't think it will be a big deal. Kids adapt very easy and they know their moms having a baby. .
