Hey ladies

MY DD is only 5 yrs. old. I always thought her birthmark was cute. It is located on her back and is a big as a "marble" size.

She was coughing so much that the doctor was looking at her back, etc. Then told me call a plastic surgeon and get it removed. BOOM I get in my scary "mommy" moods. I google answers, etc. Some people keep it,some don't. So I went to see a plastic surgeon and he said yes to remove it and I have an appointment to remove it this Monday. I am so nervous. My DD is keeping from not dying by saying "mommy I will be sleeping I won't feel anything" OMG shes amazing BUT I'm so scared. Would she be able to sleep on her back? Did anyone go through this? PLEASE help I'm so nervous I hate my baby being so strong and I'm going crazy but I don't show her that I'm scared.. Its at 6:30 am this Monday keep us in your prayers :)

when you say marble, is it round or flat on her skin?

Why did they feel the need to remove it? It is minor surgery and you both will be ok. Hugs!

Because it could turn into "cancerous" type thing as she gets older. BUT they say take it off now and its gone. I don't know I feel like doctors love to say everything is cancer,or some kind of disease

My guess is that they are concerned about the size and shape and want to make sure it's not cancerous. I'm guessing it's something similar to a mole? She will be just fine. I've had several removed. She won't be able to sleep on her back at first, but once it's healed all will be just fine. :)

Why do they want it removed? Do you have a picture or even a picture off Google of a similar one?

No I'm sorry I don't have a picture . Its flat and its somewhat in a circle and a light brown color. The surgeon called it something but I forgot its name
