I think it would be fun, just odd for the purpose of modesty.

Quoting Gardeningmom4:

I think it's a cool idea. You could design all kinds of styles using glitter and other items.

1 mom liked this
people can't play with barbies if they're naked? isn't the point to dress and undress them?

fuckin' weirdos.

Quoting Anonymous:

I agree with you, that was my first thought too! lol not exactly the most modest effect.

i think that's an ok solution. i did it to a couple of my barbies when i was a kid. i dunno, the naked body isn't anything to be ashamed of, but in my religion we teach modest dress is really important and that our bodies are private. so it would be nice to be able to play with dolls and not have them lying around completely naked, especially since both kids seem to love taking the clothes off without replacing them. i kind of think they should come already in a swimsuit thing or something, but they don't bother me enough to go buy a sharpie to do it to all my daughter's dolls.

and i think it was really nice of this woman to do it because her daughter's friends were not allowed to play with them. that was thoughtful of her.

Quoting mich.el.le:

Lol. Wow. Do people really think the naked form is that shameful? You kind of have to get naked to shower or change. Why is that horrible?

I had to laugh though. First Barbie looks like Dominatrix barbie to me. lmao

Imo, modesty doesn't aply to dolls, especially dolls without vulvas and nipples. lol I'm all for modesty in people, but with dolls..eh. I think if you hide the naked form to that extent, you run the risk of making kids feel ashamed of their bodies.

Way to make little girls ashamed of their bodies!

Whatever people want to do is fine, it just seemed odd.  It also seemed like a good topic to discuss.

It's not like she has areolas and pubic hair. It's a freakin' doll.
I think painting or drawing clothes on her is dumb.
God forbid her kids see an undressed mannequin at the store! LOL

She doesn't need one.  She's naturally perky.  lol

Why doesn't Barbie have a bra?

Lol, it's silly. People really need to stop treating nudity like it is shameful. No wonder kids are getting body issues ffs.
