I recently had ringworm of the scalp and I need to disinfect my flat iron properly as to not reinfect myself. I have a spray bottle of barbicide (32 oz of water to 2 oz of barbicide). Can I spray it on my flat iron to properly disinfect??

Ringworm doesn't live on flatirons.

Gently wipe the blades with it if you want to just be sure but i am sure the heat will burn off any disease.

I'm not sure what barbicide is but if it's something that kills ringworm, then yes.

ETA: I Googled it and it's a fungicide, so it should work.

For Barbicide to work it has to soak for 10 mins. But nothing can live on a flat iron, that's why as a hairstylist we aren't required to disinfect the hot tools. Only brushes, combs, clips and sharp blades (shears and razors).. Ringworm needs a living host to get it's nutrients from.

So even if I spray it and let it set for 10 minutes thats not just as effective??? Thats how it says to clean surfaces which you obviously cant soak. I went ahead and did that anyways because I didnt want to take the chance. Hopefully its effective lol

You do now that the heat will kill it right? I mean flat irons are effective at killing nits and lice...nothing can get passed the flat iron!
