Did you send in an excuse note after each absence?

These days the schools are all "Omg, keep sick kids home! No school till 24 hours after a fever passes" then you miss a day and they are all "Omg, you are a horrid parent for keeping your child home!"

You can't win. Children's Motrin and keep sending your kid so they can infect others or you will get in trouble.

Here you have to be gone for more then that to be truant. Did you write notes for the absences?

Since you have doctors notes for 2 days I would think they cannot do anything.

Did they send a note home. My children's school automatically send notes home after 5 absences. My son was in the hospital for a week after his appendix burst. The school knew the situation but the truancy note was still sent. I was told it's something that they automatically do and not to worry about it.

Yes you can really get in trouble. You said you only have a note for 2 days. Even though its important for her to be with her dad the school doesn't think its a good reason to miss :-\

My son is grade 1 in NC, has missed many more days than that with no doctors notes, but I send excuse notes for each absence.

Check state laws for your state. In my state a kid doesn't even legally have to go to school until they are 7.
