is this a "normal" wage?

Just curious as to weather what I get paid is "average" for an entry level job. I'm used to what my dh made in the military(which I know was a lot), so I have no idea what a "normal" non military pay is like.
I make between $1400-$1600 a month BEFORE taxes, dh made ~$1500 bimonthly AFTER taxes.

I'm not complaining or anything I'm just curious.

it's wage btw

And $1400 t o$1600 a month is very low, and $1500 bimonthly is alright.

And his military ranking - like E5 or whatever.  Whether or not he gets hazardous duty pay, overtime...  And, if you add in benefits, like healtcare or housing.  That might not be included in wage, but is a HUGE benefit.

He is out of the military now but was an E4.
After I pay health insurance for our kids take home pay is about $1100. I just feel like I'm working a lot(35-40hrs a week three 9s and an 8, plus the 5hr shift I pick up) for what seems like not much. I wasn't sure if I was comparing it to much to his pay.

Sorry I always second guess myself on that.

I feel like its low but I make more than the minimum wage in my state, I know I need a higher paying job, but I also need the qualifications for a job that will get me what he was making.

I recommend looking into legal secretary. I know some law firms require a paralegal degree. But some of the smaller offices hire legal secretaries without any experience. They pay between $10 to $15 an hour depending on your area.. Right now i am making $17 an hour doing warranty administrative work, and I have not gone to college for anything like this. Although, I am training to be a paralegal so in a few years I can look forward to more money... hopefully anyway! lol
