Odd man out

I really struggle with being the only one of my race on the nursing floor that I work on. I find other women seem to have an easier time seamlessly making friends with each other and clicking and I feel that they are uncomfortable around me just because the color of my skin. I feel like it is just me though. That maybe because I am different, I just feel like an outsider and therefore make it harder for the others to connect with me, but I'm not sure how to break the cycle. Can anyone relate? Any advice?
