Vasoline on my son's face. I noticed yesterday and today, and when I asked my neighbor (she drops him off and picks him up) she said the teacher said its vasoline. Do you know why they are doing this? And is it safe. I'm going to call them in the morning.

Eww. I don't know why they would do that. Maybe his skin is dry? I don't like vaseline so i'd ask them not to do that and maybe use lotion instead.

His skin might be dry, or he might be drooling a lot, or they simply put it on all of the kids so they don't get chapped skin while playing outside. Vaseline won't hurt anyone.

If they go outside, it's likely to prevent wind burn and chapped cheeks. If his nose runs a lot, they probably put it on to prevent chapped cheeks from the constant moisture?
I have been told Vaseline clogs pores so I wouldn't want it put on my kiddo without my permission.
