No screens at dinner

So we went out to dinner tonight and I was amazed at how many kids had some sort of tablet/phone/ds at the table tonight while we were eating.

I don't allow my kids to bring those things with us to dinner.  To dh and I, a meal out is time to talk about our day and have family time.

Do you let your kids take stuff with them to a restaurant?

DD sometimes brings hers, but they are turned off and put away when the meal comes. DS colors or plays with his cars.

In my case DS 1 and 2 pay their ds's and they are quiet, we talk over the meal.

I dont let them take their ds. But if we go somewhere that is going to take a while to bring the food I might let them play a game on my phone. Nephew has ADHD so expecting him to sit still waiting 20 mins for food to get there is a lot to ask of him.

No, unless we are out for an extra long dinner where we sit around and chat with friends for a long time after we are done eating, which is rare.

Mine are too little, they usually just color with the crayons.

We have a no screen rule, period. It doesn't matter where we are. It's just rude.
