Anyone else do an alternative to Christmas?

We don't celebrate Christmas in our house...we are not Christian so why would we?

Instead we celebrate Krampusnacht and the Yule/solstice

Krampusnacht (Google it) is on December 5th and mostly for adults but we do involve the kids somewhat. Basically, Krampus is the devilish counterpart to Saint Nicholas and he is the one who distributes the coal to bad children. It is traditional to give out Krampus cards to your friends so we have the kids make those but Krampusnacht is mostly about excess so the kids spend the night at grandparents and we have a feast and big party with our friends.

On the solstice, the 21st, we celebrate Yule. We give thanks for our harvest (we have a small farm) and we talk about what we love about winter. We decorate our Yule tree and decorate Yule wreaths. We have a big dinner and we give gifts.

Our parents do celebrate Christmas so we go over there and they do Santa. We've always been honest about things like that though and ds asked us about it when he was 6 and we told him the truth and he told his little sister so....so much for that.

Anyone else have non traditional Christmas traditions?
