Are you embarrassed to be on food stamps and/or WIC?
I'm on both and I'm not embarassed at all.
I'm 18 and expecting, I work part time as a waitress, and I go to college full time for Pre Law.
I live with my mom and younger brother. We got on FS after my parents separated and my dad moved out.
My mom is a nurse and gets paid pretty good but without my dads income we are struggling a little. My dad tries to help when he can but he has things to pay too.
I don't see why some people are ashamed of getting help if they need it. Much less understand people who bash others on fs and WIC.
And btw you can get FS and WIC and NOT be poor.
no shame! i got FS, WIC, go to food pantries, everything. i qualify and quite honestly, i need it. i dont milk the system. i need it til i dont anymore.
I'm not stirring anything up, if ppl don't like it they can lick my ass idc. I'm simply asking a question.

I had WIC. and FS when my DH was laid off. I see no shame in using it when you really need it
Same here! Luckily I have a huge supportive family that is willing to help me until I finish school. They think of it as an investment bc the day I become a lawyer I won't need fs or anything anymore.

We get WIC, but that's it. Haven't ever qualified for FS, except with I was a SAHM, but it never occured to me to apply; I got a job instead. Now with me working part time and going to school full time and dh working full time, we still don't qualify for fs. It's all good though, once we get our taxes back, we'll be paying off the rest of our debt (except student loans) and be sitting alright.
