Before cafemom... I never knew...

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
That moms had such strong opinions on formula feeding vs. Breast feeding. In real life people act like they don't much care, here its like world war 3 anytime the topic is brought up.

That circumcision was cause for debate. Honestly, I just didn't think it was a big deal until I saw the battle royales going on on cafemom.

What ERFing was. I had my first son 7.5 yrs ago. I turned him forward facing at the minimum for the state regs. Not long after I joined cafemom I saw debates galore about ERFing. It just wasn't something I ever would have heard of had it not been for cafemom.

That PA made so many people mad. I never realized how many people hate PA, or think all people on PA are fat, lazy slobs who don't parent.. Etc.

How much crap they put in the food you buy at the store. Or in your detergents.. Not saying I'm blind to these things, I just never would have had reason to question any of it.

That people breast feed to five or six... I never would have guessed.

That cloth diapering was so popular.

That people argued about homeschooling vs public schooling. :/

What have you learned since joining? What arguments on here have surprised you? I know I now ERF my kids. Not to the extreme that some ladies do, but until 2. And my kids are in five point harnessess until 65lbs. I'll also be trying to breast feed this baby (tried the last two times with no success), but I'm going to try harder this time.

I never knew that every husband out there is a cheating dog or that strangers know my husband better than I do.

lol No kidding! I think someone even said the other day that if their d*ck gets hard they can't help it and that it will lead them to cheat. lol

I forgot about all the conspiracy theorists! That's something I've noticed too. Some of the moms on here love their conspiracies.

Quoting Jennyanne322:

Everything on your list, plus that there is a conspiracy theory about everything, that a working mom is a piece of shit because she should stay home and collect welfare, so she could raise her child. That you can not bad mouth a teacher on here, because other teachers will rip you for it.

I've learned that there are a lot of desperate woman on here who fall for a guy whether a loser or not. A lot of immaturity.

I was going to post your #1 but I didnt want to be accused of being an ignorant bigot who hates autistic kids so I refrained. ASD moms are assholes sometimes.

Quoting Anonymous:

I have learned that it's not ok to ask an autism mom a polite question about her child, ever. You will be told you are an autism basher regardless of what the question is.

I didn't know that so many moms choose not to breastfeed for non medical reasons.

I never knew that so many parents are afraid to let their child play in their own backyard.

Maturity doesn't exist on Cafemom and most people don't take "you're immature" as an insult. I am one of those people.

Yes! Now when I am grocery shopping I wonder.... Who's watching? Will I be thr featured post tonight? Bahahaha

Quoting Megan11587:

I never realized how nosy people are! When I go grocery shopping, I'm in my own little world. I don't notice other people. Apparently crazies watch other shoppers like hawks.
