Before cafemom... I never knew...

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
That moms had such strong opinions on formula feeding vs. Breast feeding. In real life people act like they don't much care, here its like world war 3 anytime the topic is brought up.

That circumcision was cause for debate. Honestly, I just didn't think it was a big deal until I saw the battle royales going on on cafemom.

What ERFing was. I had my first son 7.5 yrs ago. I turned him forward facing at the minimum for the state regs. Not long after I joined cafemom I saw debates galore about ERFing. It just wasn't something I ever would have heard of had it not been for cafemom.

That PA made so many people mad. I never realized how many people hate PA, or think all people on PA are fat, lazy slobs who don't parent.. Etc.

How much crap they put in the food you buy at the store. Or in your detergents.. Not saying I'm blind to these things, I just never would have had reason to question any of it.

That people breast feed to five or six... I never would have guessed.

That cloth diapering was so popular.

That people argued about homeschooling vs public schooling. :/

What have you learned since joining? What arguments on here have surprised you? I know I now ERF my kids. Not to the extreme that some ladies do, but until 2. And my kids are in five point harnessess until 65lbs. I'll also be trying to breast feed this baby (tried the last two times with no success), but I'm going to try harder this time.

I never knew it was manageable for  a woman to cheat and if their husbands stay with them well they must really love them.   If a guy cheats there are no second chances and you just need to dump them to the curb, you are really dumb if you stay with the guy and try to work it out.

I never knew what a troll was. I kept reading these posts that I would think, "No, that cant be real." I stilll dont understand why people make this stuff up....

I never felt ashamed of PA till CM.

Didn't realize there was such a public out roar over public breastfeeding. I breastfed in public all the time with both my boys and never hit a single dirty look or complaint.

That apparently your supposed to suck it up and have sex with your husband whenever he wants it or he'll cheat or leave you. And if you don't then your a selfish prude! Lol

I never knew what a c*nt was. It means nothing to me, but since it offends so many, I edited it.

I'll agree with this, for some reason I always thought moms would be more understanding of one another. Lol

The two major things I've learned here is how incredibly stupid women can be and how incredibly cruel.

I feel that unless a child is being abused, others need to shut up and let them raise their kids as they please.

There is some good I'm 5 months pregnant and my birth month group (June 2013) is full of lovely, sweet, very kind and supportive women. It sounds cliche but I think more women should support each other more and hate each other a lot less.

Same here.
We never thought NOT to circ our boys.
Or that I didn't have to vaccinate my kids. I thought that was something all parents did! Apparently I was WAY off!

I had never heard of ERFing until cafemom. I never knew people were against circumcision.

I never knew that every husband out there is a cheating dog or that strangers know my husband better than I do.

lol No kidding! I think someone even said the other day that if their d*ck gets hard they can't help it and that it will lead them to cheat. lol
