I mean, well, that's an obvious, lol. What I meant to say is I never put pots and pans in the dishwasher. Ever. I have a large family so by the time I'm finished loading the plates, bowls, cups, etc, there's no room for any pots and pans. On the rare occasion there's room, I still wash them by hand. Old habits die hard, I guess. Well, I've been sick as a dog for almost two weeks, and my house is a disaster x10. Oh, but here's the good news....MY MIL IS FLYING IN TODAY! Yay me =/ So in a vain attempt to clean up before she gets here I loaded the dishwasher with as many pots and pans as it could fit. I figured what the hell, at least they won't be on the counters and dirty when she gets here. I didn't even rinse them off first, they went in dried days-old crud and all. They came out 100% spotless! I was really surprised, those fuckers would have taken some soaking and serious elbow grease if I had done them by hand. I was sure I was going to have to re-wash some of them.

Isn't technology grand? :)

Can you explain? :)

Quoting Anonymous:

You should re-season them.

Yea like stuff sticks now when I cook. You know maybe it was something else, I *think* not sure, I or my husband used to use the scouring pads on them, maybe that was it. I just can't remember! Let me know if anything sticks the next time you use them!

Hard anodized pans :( Well, crap, that means I probably shouldn't make a habit out of it :(

Quoting jella31:

Mine ruined my hard anondized pans :( what kind do you have?

Sorry to hijack lol but thanks for sharing that tip! I get water spots on my pans and Tupperware, that's the only thing that bugs me. Our dishwasher is literally falling apart but I figured it wasn't that since it's happened with 3 different ones.

Is it even possible to re-season non-stick pans? How would you do that?
