The lack of car seat knowledge

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post
Is amazing.
Here is a link explaining WHY the AAP says to rear face until AT LEAST 2 years old.

http://www.earlyinterventionsupport.com/parentingtips/safety/rearfacingcarseats.aspx

Now, stop using the "they will break their leg" excuse.
It's MUCH easier to repair a leg (and the article even said it is RARE for rear facing) than a neck injury is.

But WIC says that you can't rf past two because it's ├╝ber dangerous!!! If it's bad for kids over 2 why would it be good for kids under 2? I just let my kids crawl around in the back of the van. Every once in a while I scream SIT THE F*%$ DOWN! They're fine.

i think the tumbling head over heals may have had some lasting effects...

That's such a silly thing to say. Not everyone DID survive their childhood. And they aren't here to make silly comments like this now are they?

When I was a kid my mom left her back seat folded down so there'd be more room in the back for other stuff and I just sat on the folded seat. I didn't even use a seatbelt. Ever. One time she got mad and floored the gas and I went tumbling head over heals to the back end. I'm still alive, so I guess we should all just start doing that right? Heck, I didn't even get hurt.

i would love to know how we all survived our childhood?

of course my heart goes out to all those lives lost then and all lives lost now i just think some moms really are way to uptight about things like RF vs FF, BF vs FF, to circumcise or to not. sometimes i honestly wonder if some of these moms are even enjoying there child's childhood or if there to busy wrapping them in bubble wrap.
