if you are in default on your student loans - taxes - 2nd question!

Have you gotten your taxes back yet? Did the IRS take them from you?

Added 2nd question..

If the tax offset hotline says there is no offset, will that change at any time before my taxes come, if I have already filed?

I know its a bill that needs to be paid. Im sorry I dont have the best damn job to pay it all off right now. Thank you for letting me know what a shitty person I am because I am a few months in default. I appreciate it.

You can call the offset hotline and find out if they are going to use your refund to pay off anything you owe.

We are defaulted and but have them on deferment-so never had this issue.  But my SIL did last year since she never put hers in deferment.
