Quoting addyangel:I must have been 6 when I got glasses, I was in 1st grade, I'm 30 now. I got contacts in middle school, the hard ones, and I hated them. I was a freshman when my mom finally gave in and let me get soft contacts and I've been wearing them ever since. I would like lasik but it doesn't last forever and I'm not sure I want to go through it every 5 or 10 years or whatever.
I've been wearing them intermittenly since 4th grade.
I started wearing glasses in 2006 when I was 16. After arguing with my mom for a few years that I needed them and her telling me that there was no way, she tried to take me to get my driving permit and I couldn't pass the vision test. Turns out I have a focusing disorder and am super near-sighted. The eye doctor didn't know how I was functioning since I can't see far enough to distinguish things farther than arm's length, and even then, my eyes are constantly focusing in and out in such a way that I have a constant walking migraine if I don't have glasses.
