If you had an induction please come here.

If you've had an induction, would you mind answering a few questions?

Would you have an induction again if need be?

How far along were you when you had your induction?

Was it planned very far in advance?

How long did your labor last?

Was it the overnight induction (with cervidil (sp) or the like) or the one you came in for in the morning and just had Pitocin?

Were you dilated before the start of the induction? How far?

Did they offer an Epidural? How long into the induction was it offered?

Did you take the Epi?

Did your induction wind up with a C-Section?

IF YES TO THE C-SECTION:

How long did you labor beforehand?

Were you given the option of the C-sec or was is considered "emergency"?

Would you consider the induction a failure?

*thanks for the time to answer these questions. I may have 1 or 2 more if I can remember them.*

39 weeks 4 days.
Decided a day before.
48 hours and 47 minutes. My contractions were every 4-5 minutes but not strong and almost no dilation.
Cervidil x4 doses over night. Pit started in the AM.
1cm dilated and he was low.
Yes I ended up in C/S.
I had a failed induction that lasted 48 hours and 47 minutes. After 4 hours of pushing we went to C/S because the doctor figured out he wasn't positioned correctly and assisted birth did not work. Acynclitic occiput.
Yes, it was a failed induction.

If you've had an induction, would you mind answering a few questions?

How far along were you when you had your induction? 42 weeks

Was it planned very far in advance? planned at 40 weeks

How long did your labor last? 30 hours

Was it the overnight induction (with cervidil (sp) or the like) or the one you came in for in the morning and just had Pitocin? I went in at 9 pm but just got pitocin.

Were you dilated before the start of the induction? How far? 1 cm?

Did your induction wind up with a C-Section? YES!!!!!

IF YES TO THE C-SECTION:

How long did you labor beforehand? 30 hours

Were you given the option of the C-sec or was is considered "emergency"? C section was optional at the time but my doc was confident the baby was stuck, I wasn't dialting, and that my forced contractions were squeezing his imbilblical cord and might lead to an emergency one soon.

Would you consider the induction a failure? Yes. It might be because baby's head got stuck in my birth canal but the whole thing sucked. I didn't feel any contractions until they broke my water then it was like I was in full term labor. No easing into it. Then at 28 hours into it I agreed to an epidural my body went into shock.

Would you do an induction again if need be?

NEVER! Your baby and body will go into labor when ready. I didn't have anything wrong with me that required a time frame for delivery so I wish I would have waited for it to go about natrually.

I was induced at 39 wks because my blood pressure kept going up. My dr said she was pretty sure I would need a c-section, but insisted on trying vaginal delivery first. I got cervadil that night and started pictocin the next morning. At about 3 pm on Tuesday, the pictocin had been maxed out, no pain meds, and I hadn't even dilated a cm. My DS was born at 8:01 pm that night by c-section.

I just turned 36 weeks.
Just 2 weeks in advance. The induction at 34 weeks failed.
I was in labor for 15 mins.
I was 5cm dilated already
No c section.

I was induced because the pregnancy was about to kill us both. I was going into liver failure.
