It will either go straight to the mortgage or savings.  We budget for our yearly expenses.

A minute...as long as it takes me to transfer funds to a loan.

Mine has to last until next year. Dh is stationed overseas and when he gets home we are moving across the country, so we have to have that money plus any other we save to get to our new duty station

I plan on ours going straight to savings. We are completely debt free as of January..paid off our mortgage and car loan and don't have much for other bills. SO and I will both be getting a little something selfish for ourselves, but the rest is being put away.

About 5.2 seconds, the time it takes for my student loans to pick them up. I haven't been able to pay on them for about 7 months now (I know I know bad me) but rent was more priority at the time dh was switching jobs.

Based on the appointment my DH just had, it's already spent and we haven't even filed yet.

As long as it takes from the time we get it until our insurance renewal comes up, probably a few weeks. We use ours to pay our I insurance renewal in full for the year.

Until the kids go to college. I sock it away in a high yield savings so it works for the kids.
