Not do you "expect" them to, do they want to?

My mom definitely doesn't. She's really busy, but mostly, she just doesn't like her routine interupted. My in-laws offer, but not on a regular basis. I'm always sort of jealous of people that have family that has no problem watching their kids. Like my bff, her mom watches her ds all summer vacation, snow days, when she wants to go out, etc, no questions asked. I don't particularly need a babysitter so I can party, but the idea of having mil watch dd while I work seems much nicer than daycare (which is why I'm a sahm). I don't blame anyone, they're my kids, I just wonder what it's like to have parents that literally don't mind at all.

Nope. We don't live close to them.

eta- they take them every other summer for a week or two. But as for a daily or weekly thng they wouldn't if we lived by them.

My parents don't invite children over for sleepovers until they are around 5, so mine aren't included yet. But then, my parents take them for a week or more at a time, and it's a huge crowd of cousins.
My Inlaws invite them over at least once a week for a sleepover, or sometimes just for a day. It's nice. They actually asked if they could have our youngest (3 months) for a couple of hours on Friday night so DH and I can have a "proper" date.

My father does not babysit (he lives about 1,200 miles away) We make lots of trips back and forth but we all visit then. My mother is fairly busy she works full time but loves to have the children when she can and is always willing if she's needed. My MIL lives in Greece but when we spend our month there in the summer she's always trying to steal the kids lol. She does the same when she's here in the winter :)

Both my parents and my in-laws take my son on a regular basis. They love him and love spending time with him.

As long as they give me about a week's notice, so I can plan my schedule accordingly, I am there with bells on the second one of my daughters needs a night out with her Hubby. I just got back from a three day weekend trip to my eldest's home where I spoiled my oldest and youngest Grands shamelessly, delivering bubblebaths snuggles, homemade snacks, huge breakfasts, park time, stories, lullabys, new books, art projects and endless hugs and kisses.

I can't wait for my youngest daughter to come up with a date for me to babysit my two middle Grands! She's promising at least three more days of fun at her house with them!

My Mom will watch Dd for a little while at a time. If I have to run up to the store or something like that she usually stays with her, my Mom doesn't ever seem happy about it though. Overnight with Grandma? Nope. My Dad has taken her for the weekend to go do fun stuff, just because he wants to, I don't necessarily have to ask if he will take her, but if I need him to and he is able, he will Not that I have asked more then maybe twice. My in laws have never watched her, because they just haven't had the opportunity to.

My mom is passed on, mil lives 4 hours away, but my dad will if I ask him to. I don't make a habit out of it though.
