they want him to take adderall XR 5 MG.

we went today to talk to the dr. he is smart makes good grades so far. He is in first grade. He cannot sit still and listen though. his teacher asked us to take him for testing so we did and this is what they want him on. i am leary of him being on med. i was wondering if anyone had experience with this medication and if you can tell me your input on it. pros and cons. thanks

My ds 14 is on vyvanse. He has been on it for almost 2 years with only one increase. We have tried them all. Ritalin caused severe weight loss. Adderal caused severe rages and mood swings. Concerta weight gain and sleeplessness. They all have different side effects for different people. This is just the case with my child. He has also been on daytrana would take the patch off on the bus on the way to school otherwise that worked well too. Sorry forgot that one. We have been dealing with adhd since he was six.
