Help my nurse is a b****.

I'm in labor and delivery and I've been her 24 hours waiting for my cervix to change. I've been miserable having contractions every 5 minutes and haven't been allowed to eat or anything.

well, the new nurse that came on shift is pissing me off. How do I get rid of her without pissing off the whole nursing staff and looking like a bitch myself? Her personality + mine is not going to work.

I wish I had asked for a different nurse for my first labor. Ask for a new one!!! As awkward as you might feel, you will remember how terrible she was and it will color your labor experience. Besides, I'm sure you aren't the first to ask for a switch. Some people just don't mesh well.

I'm a RN myself and never have had that happen. Have had a lot of angry mother in labor and not one complaint. If she's that so called horrible, just ask to speak to the charge nurse and ask for a different nurse.

They deal with it all the time in L&D. Just say you don't feel comfortable with her.

I would just let them know you are not comfortable with her. When I had my youngest there was a male nurse that gave me the creeps. I refused to let him back in my room. Nobody gave me a problem over it.

Maybe tell them you think she's having a bad day and ask if there's anyone else that can take care of you?  If she's really a bitch, then I don't think any of the other nurses will get mad-they probably all agree with you
