School, DHS, and head lice

The school called my husband today and in short told him they will be calling DHS (same as CPS) on my step daughters mom if the repeated apparently untreated lice problem isn't resolved.
She tells us she has treated her so we can't when we have her. I don't know what to do. She also has given SD's meds to the school to give her because she apparently can't remember to give them to her.

What would be a good way to treat her hair when she is her that isn't chemical?

Treat her anyway. Make sure you get all the eggs out. Are you treating your home too? If not, they are in your house if she comes over with them. Poor kid.

I have been making sure her bed sheets and pillows are washed and dryed after she leaves and spraying and vaccuuming the seating areas.

We have't treated her becasue we don't want a over load of chemicals if her mom is treating her as she says kwim.

This has been a BIG problem in the past and it took months for her to get rid of it becasue her mom doesn't treat everything like she should. Somehow my kids manage to never get it even when she does.

Just comb through her hair and make sure there are no eggs left. You don't have to use chemicals. Maybe dhs will make bm treat her house.

Mayo. Cover her hair, put a bag over hair to sleep then wash out in the morning. After wash use a comb to get all the knits and bugs out!

smother her hair with mayo and cover it with a shower cap. Leave it on atleast 2 hours (longer if she will let you) then wash it out. It leaves hair soft and shiney too. You MUST pick all of the nits out of her hair too. I had to do this often as a foster parent.

Probably a dumb question but does it matter if it is mayo or miracle whip?
