My neighbor leaves her four yr old and five yr old home alone during the day. I talked to her about it got nowhere. So I called the cops and they told me there is nothing they can do until someone gets hurt. If a parent thinks there child is okay to be left home alone their hands are tied. This is so wrong I was pissed in what world is okay for kids that young to be home alone all day(7am-5pm). Am I wrong is it okay.

That is too young. I know Illinois doesn't have very strict laws about what age a child can be home alone. It just says something general like when they are able.. For a reasonable amount of time.

I called cps they blew it off too basically said what the cops said. They are home alone from 7am to 5pm. I hate going anywhere during that time in case something were to happen I told them if they ever need something then can come to me. She has no home phone and kids dont have a phone to use in an emergency
