nursing screws up your cycle. Even if you are, my friend got preggo three months after her first was born and while I love her she was not equipped financially, emotionally, mentally, or physically for another one and they are doing OK....need a bigger place to live, but getting by.

The pill isn't as effective if you're exclusively breastfeeding (told from my ob) but I wouldn't be worried about missing a period. Since my daughter was born to her being six months I had three periods and they were different than normal because my periods were occurring less because I was breastfeeding. I would be careful though if you don't want to get pregnant to use a condom to make sure you don't get pregnant (when my daughter turned 6 months I had my last period for a while because I got pregnant)

Not the end of the world if you are. My kids are 12 months apart and they love it (most of the time). We had them that close on purpose though.
