Could You/Would You "Unplug" On Weekends

Seven years ago my DH and I decided that weekends would be "unplugged".  No TV, no computer time, no video games, no cell phones.  So far we have maintained that along with being "unplugged" for all our family vacations.

We do make acceptions for homework and we carry cell phones when we travel.  We also don't have a problem with the kids "plugging in" when they go to other peoples houses for sleepovers.  But when kids come to our house on the weekends, no electronics.

It's worked really well for our family but I am curious if other people do it or would try it?

DH and I are involuntarily disconnected. Our cell phones both broke. I actually feel liberated. I'm in school so weekends I used the computer to study.

I would have no problem doing it and have done it for myself a few times.  My family would not go for it.  They would make me walk the plank.

It really helped that our kids at the time were young (10 and 2) so just went along with it:)

No. I raid on WoW on the weekends. We still go out and do things as a family, but we won't be "unplugging" anytime soon.
