Ridiculous to have a wedding....

My friend is finally getting married after being with boyfriend for 7 years and having three kids. She is so caught up in having a huge old fashioned wedding and I'm embarrassed for her. She should have had the wedding BEFORE the kids. I can't make myself get excited for her. The engagement party, wedding shower, rehearsal dinner...all with the kids in tow is just odd.

Right, because NO ONE has kids before marriage anymore....I agree that if they live together the engagement party seems silly, but other than that, let her enjoy making public vows to one another!!

Why does someone who set up shop 7 years ago need with a bridal shower? They are intended to help the bride set up her new home. That's kind of like having a house warming party years after you move into a new home.

It seems a little silly, but its certainly not embarrassing. She should have a wedding if she wants one. Personally, I think weddings are a little ridiculous in general, but to each their own. You should support her.

Agree with that, however they could give the bride lingerie, sex toys, recipes, or just have fun?
